Battles in Education

Battles in Education

From the four videos presented above that define battles in education, I side with the pedagogic creed by John Dewey. The pedagogic creed by John Dewey states that education is only individual, and that is the way the society allows it to be (Davies, 2017). It says that people are trained unconsciously from birth in cultural ways and social ways. It also states that education is a product of the social surroundings that we go through until adulthood. The pedagogic creed also says that as members of society, we tend to be confined to a language that empowers us.

The reason why I pick the pedagogic creed as the winner is because it elaborates on how education is passed from one generation to another. It also elaborates clearly that education is a learning process, which I agree with. The things that one learns when one is a child are very different from those that one learns as an adult. As a kid, one learns things that are not that complex, and as one progresses, then things keep on getting complex. It is because the brain of a person keeps on growing.

The pieces of evidence for my choice of the pedagogic creed are as follows. Firstly, from the article, an image is a very significant instrument of instruction (Lobo & Asim, 2018). The creed shows that a child mainly gets to learn as a result of images that they see throughout their lives. It helps the child greatly in remembrance of some concepts learned. Secondly, the creed also states that active precedes play a vital role in the development of a child. It shows that a child’s’ muscular development is faster than sensory development. The above pieces of evidence are proof that the pedagogic creed is the best of the four battles presented in the videos above.
