In Sub-Sahara African countries, like in Uganda, the prevalence of chronic conditions is high in old age, which influences their living standards. Most of these diseases have little or no research done on them, and the population within this group is increasing rapidly. This research paper seeks to create awareness about the factors contributing to chronic illnesses and how this may impact the affected if they have HIV or not. This research paper also aspires to solve the scarcity of information about chronic diseases in old age.
Introduction
Chronic diseases are the disease that requires lifelong medical treatment. This category may entail diseases affecting all the systems like the cardiovascular system, respiratory system, regeneration, and genetics. These systems are particularly at risk if the individual is advanced in age or has HIV, all of which contribute to an increased likelihood of suffering from these diseases, and remission rates are reduced. When we discuss these conditions, we do not include the income rates for the person at risk. When income is involved as a risk, the developing countries, especially those found within the sub-Saharan belt, are of particular concern.
Problem statement
The health sector of the countries within the Sub-Saharan belt should seek to do more research and provide more data on chronic illnesses within the population of 50 years or older and associated this data with the risk factors of these illnesses, the disability caused by the disease and the prevalence of the conditions in people living with HIV and those without.

Hypothesis
Alternative hypothesis
People aged 50 years or older and living with HIV have an increased risk of having chronic diseases and developing disabilities than those without HIV, significantly when the income rates range between low and middle-income.
Thesis statement
Although there is an increased prevalence of chronic diseases in older people of 50 years and over, the risk of developing chronic diseases doubles when HIV is involved.
