Critique Legality of DNA Collection

Because the term DNA is not being specifically mentioned in the Fourth Amendment, its protection is often overlooked by law enforcement officers which results in evidence not being able to be used in court. Many cases in the criminal justice system are dismissed due to illegally seized DNA evidence.
For this assignment, research a case where the courts ruled DNA evidence was seized illegally. Prepare a transcript assuming you, as a law enforcement expert, are being interviewed by a news outlet about the case you researched. Develop possible questions you could be asked and indicate how you intend to respond. Be sure to discuss the fact pattern and specify the specific constitutional violation in the seizure of the DNA evidence. Indicate how the forensic scientist(s) involved may have incorrectly obtained or processed the evidence. Provide recommendations concerning how to avoid these issues in the future.
