What I would like to do as my business project for this class would be a family catering business. Both of my parents and my uncle are excellent cookers. They specialize in Cuban food, but are able to replicate exquisite dishes from other countries. I think in these difficult times people would appreciate food that is coming from a small circle rather than form a big chain with multiple employees and where they always have people coming in and out of the business. We would focus only on catering, try to do our own deliveries or use the service of a third party, like Doordash.

I believe our success would come from the quality of our food. I haven’t meet a single person that has come out of our house without going crazy about the food my family makes. Our success will totally rely on word of mouths recommendations and how good of a job I can do to promote the business in social media and get the people involved.

My mom got her Bachelor’s in gastronomy in Cuba and has worked in multiple chain restaurants, here in the US. That experience would be key and also motivation because I want to help her develop a career in her area of study and keep her away from these tiring unmanageable jobs.

We would operate right from our house and my aunt lives right next door, so in terms of equipment and space we are pretty qualified to start the business. Hopefully I can make use of that marketing specialization completed during my BBA and do a good job of promoting what our business it’s all about. Family and friends have really waited a long time for this, so I think we would have a lot of support coming our way. Also I would do my best to bring some samples to class, prior to our opening, to see what you guys think.
