Essay on Globalization

Globalization based on its characteristics can be referred to as the continued dependency and dominance of communication and information technology, the growing international corporation resulting in a new global culture (Zembylas and Vrasidas 65-83). For the most part, Globalization is depicted as a good trend and efficient and promises many good to the general public. While this may be so, it also has many hidden disadvantages and personal agendas in motion, driven by the greed of power and control over uninformed countries and naïve citizens. Vandana Shiva, a renowned social activist, and physicist have been at the forefront of fighting for food security in India and the world by setting up an organization keen on sustainable methods of agriculture. ‘Technology is a tool, it needs assessment. It needs assessment based on higher values, and those higher values don’t come from technology, they come from human values, they come from ecological values’ (Shiva).

The ongoing privatization and patenting of natural seeds and soil laws, dressed in food security and green movements, are unnatural and criminal her perspective; this is based on the suffering of Indian farmers who bought the sale of using chemicals to boost production. Financial giants manipulate the theory of Globalization to impose and control global output. Many global south continents like Africa, South America, and developing countries in Asia and the Middle East fall for this and become dependent and desperate for aid and grants from the global south continents.
