Research Question: What are the mental health problems faced by foster care children?
Mental health illnesses are some of the risks that foster children might face. A foster child is a child who has been raised by an adoptive parent. When a person is raised by an adoptive parent, he or she might ask him or herself some questions, for instance, where are my parents? Why do other people raise me? Among others questions. When such a person is not provided with the answers, he or she can have mental illnesses. For instance, such a person can have post-traumatic stress dis (PTSD). This is a dis that is characterized by failing to recover after witnessing or experiencing a terrifying event (Vasileva, 2018). In this case, failing to get answers to those questions, the child might think that his or her parents neglected him or her. Some of the symptoms of this dis include; vivid flashbacks. When a person has this symptom, he or she feels like being traumatized. The second symptom is a physical sensation, such as pain and nausea.
When a person has prolonged PTSD, he or she can have depression. This is a mental dis that is characterized by a loss of interest in some activities, causing significant impairment in daily activities. The possible cause of this mental illness is the combination of psychological, social, and biological sources of distress (Vasileva, 2018). In this case, the child might think that she was abandoned by his or her biological parents. When a person thinks that he or she has been abandoned by the parents, the person will be affected psychologically, thus leading a person to go into depression. When a person is depressed, he or she might lose appetite; that is, he or she might lack interest in something.
Also, in to determine the exact mental illness that a foster child might be suffering, he or she can be subjected to an interview to fill some questionnaires. In this case, the child will be provided with some questions that he or she is supposed to fill (Vasileva, 2018). For instance, some of the questions that should be included include; why do you think you are raised by a non-biological parent? Does this situation affect you psychologically? Are you comfortable with the condition?. With the answers that will be provided by the child, the interviewer can easily determine whether the child is suffering from mental illness. For instance, if a child states that he or she is not comfortable and he or she has psychological problems, the child will state how he or she is feeling. When reviewing the question, the interview will be able to associate the symptoms with a specific mental illness.

Annotated Bibliography
A good preparation for a foster parent to care for a neglected or abused child includes
effective training and initial diagnostic to plan an individual treatment. The main psychological
problems that are prone to foster children include post -traumatic dis s, depression, trauma,
and stress. When children are neglected, abused, or traumatized at an early age, they are likely to
suffer those mental illnesses. For this paper, a literature review and a series of meta-analyses
were carried out in to determine mental illness among foster children. The analysis
indicated a prevalence rate of 40% for mental health problems. This paper aims at determining
the development of mental illness among foster children (Vasileva et al., 2018).
