Prior to the pandemic it produced a full season of musicals and plays each year in addition to smaller festivals and programs. Shows like Hamilton have made their debut at the Public prior to transferring to Broadway. For this discussion I have analyzed the Public Theater’s Annual Report from the 2018-2019 season (its last full season before the shutdown). Headlines are big and bold but the actual details are in fine print and can be difficult to find or notice. A patron looking at this quickly would likely miss a lot of important information. While the graphics look beautiful the report is difficult to follow and navigate.
