For my dissertation I am conducting a research on the topic of phishing. See the attached
paper. The title of the paper I have been inspired by of the paper is Investigating Teenagers’
Ability to Detect Phishing Messages (it is attached)
I have been inspired by the attached paper, for my research I am going to be asking the
same research questions and using the same methodology as theirs, however instead of
targeting teenagers, I will be targeting adults 18+ that are university students. I want to see
If my results are different or the same.
As one part of my project I have to do the following tasks
The tasks:
Task 1 1000 words: Write A pilot study ‘small study to test research protocols, data
collection instruments, sample recruitment strategies, and other research techniques in
preparation for a larger study.1 A pilot study is one of the important stages in a research
project and is conducted to identify potential problem areas and deficiencies in the research
instruments and protocol prior to implementation during the full study.
Task 2: I want you to fix the questionnaire questions and where the consent form goes etc.
Frame the questions and possible answers similar to how they have done it for the teenager’s
but for adults etc. See what I have done so far. Feel free to make all necessary changes.
Because in the pilot study the choices obliviously have to be evaluated. I will be using
Google forms to distribute my questionnaire just to be clear. Please remove questions that are
not necessary. Ask the questions in a similar way as the study attached on Investigating
Teenagers’ Ability to Detect Phishing Messages.
