You are a Psycho social student with Westminster Kingsway College and have been requested to undertake a research project related to an issue you are studying this year.

You must carry out detailed secondary research into an area that interests you. Your research will revolve around an original research question or statement. Assess the effects of mental health on children in war torn countries” 1: In to conduct your research you must first prepare and submit a research proposal within one week of receipt of this assignment brief. Your proposal will identify the research topic that you have chosen will provide justification for your research based on the problems that you have identified. You should clearly indicate the aim(s) of your research the main sources that you will use to compile your report and the research methodology that will be appropriate to establishing the relevant information for your chosen topic. Finally you will identify the limitations within which your report will be prepared (200 words).

You will receive developmental feedback on your proposal and you should demonstrate how you have incorporated this into your research project. 2: You are expected to conduct your research independently and should ensure that your sources of information provide you with sufficient relevant and appropriate material such that you can demonstrate within your report that there are various opinions views perspectives arguments related to your topic.

Any conclusions and recommendations that you draw will be based on the evidence that you have discovered to support your findings. You must evaluate your findings taking into account current research the effectiveness of your research area and so on. Recommendations should be supported by the evidence presented in your discussion (2500 words).

To support you on how to best address the research you are expected to meet weekly with Carl (tutor) from which action plans and targets will be reviewed and may be set as appropriate. Your engagement with these meetings will be recorded. Your work is to be presented as follows: Font Size: 10; Font Type: Arial; Line Spacing 1.5 and a clear line space between paragraphs.

You will include a front page with the title of your research your name date and total word count including the proposal (Task 1) which you will attach as an appendix. With references Requirements DISTINCTION: GD2: You have established a detailed understanding of the complexities of your topic through the wide research that you have conducted which you have analysed in depth and applied to the circumstances under discussion.

Your detailed analysis and critical evaluation of sources will be consistently maintained throughout your work. Political and/or theoretical perspectives will be thoroughly evaluated through your discussion of all the arguments that relate to your topic of research. Conclusions and any recommendations are drawn solely from and supported by your research findings. Your evaluation of the research project will confirm the extent to which you have achieved your original aims the limitations of your research will be evaluated accompanied by recommendations for your future research projects. Your research will draw on a wide range of relevant sources and information relevant to the research topic selected where you have clearly identified the current position relating to your topic. In so doing you will have thoroughly interpreted all sources used and separated the more relevant information from the less relevant. GD5: Your work will be very well structured logically presented and incorporate excellent use throughout of relevant technical language. The arguments and discussions will be fluent and clearly convey the meaning to the reader.
