Milestone 3: Company Tour Questions and Research References

My pending study tour is intended to internalize the curricula and expand my understanding and creative process. Conventionally, the airline industry encompasses a wide range of businesses. As such, efficient transport requires highly specialized managerial and operational expertise, not to mention cutting-edge technologies. As I prepare to visit American Airlines, Inc., I am grappling with numerous questions that I will seek to be answered by the organization’s concerned authorities. Top of the list is the firm’s system of governance, organizational structure, and its most preferred software simulation.
In terms of corporate governance, I will be seeking to know the system of rules, processes, and practices that direct and control American Airlines. Typically, airline companies often have many indebted stakeholders. As such, it would be important to understand the firm’s framework for attaining its business objectives in virtually all management departments. This sphere will encompass performance measurement, action plans, and corporate disclosure. Similarly, I will be curious to know the Airline’s organizational structure and how its systems define certain activities such as responsibilities, rules, and roles to achieve organizational goals. It will be important to understand this business aspect, especially regarding how information flows between levels within the firm. The insight will justify how the company has managed to remain focused and efficient over time. In the same likely, I will be concerned with how software simulation has revolutionized American Airlines. The aviation industry is known for recruiting and employing top talents the world over, with more training offered in the job place through learning and training. Flight simulation devices are common training tools for pilots to acquire skills and perform certain maneuvers with a certain precision. Understanding how the company uses simulation devices in different stages of pilot instructional training will give an idea of the quality of the company’s staff. Therefore, I am armed with the aforementioned questions and form part of my list of inquiries.
