1- Artifact and descriptions

As a mechanical engineering student, I focused on creating an artifact that would help to ease most of the situations realized after a hard day at work or after a busy week. Besides, the artifact is based from the knowledge of various environments and activities that are done in my country. However, the artifact qualifies to meet international standards of usage and implementation in various circumstances and environments. One of the most participated fun activity that favors both old and young people deal with the use and the availability of water. for this purpose and reason, my artifact matches with the respective circumstance and environment. The artifact is a type of kayak that is easily maneuvered and controlled. An additional setting and ideas in the particular artifact are the supper slim and light structure that enables it to be managed and navigated easily. Made of carbon fiber, the kayak guarantees maximum tensile strength ad durability. Besides, it is lighter and can be operated and maneuvered easily by children.
According to the hallmark learning goal, the artifact meets the various requirements and specifications expected form its operation. the analysis and research done on the creation of the artifact, its global perspective, where it can be implemented and used in any point and place, the intellectual insight, ethical reflection, collaborative creation and other various aspects realized in the hallmarks goals marks its relation and adherence to the particular hallmarks learning goals. Form its creation and implementation, various aspects and requirements are met. This implies that it has a direct relation and an implementation of the knowledge and information stated and provided in the hallmark’s learning goals.
According to my learning experience, its importance is realized form the artifact. The implementation of various concepts and the knowledge provided through the course serves as an achievement ad a proof of the essence of the learning experience.
2- Hallmarks Reflection Assignment

The artifact in this case would be the class presentation from the communication skills class. Whereby the instructor assigned each of us to talk about ourselves in detail, in terms of a presentation in front of the class. I clearly remember this because after a few times of working on this artifact I was able to be a better communicator or rather; have confidence when communicating. Which was the purpose of assigning this course, as it built us to be better communicators or at least have a foundation.
The experience helped me achieve my Hallmark goal mainly because I was able to have confidence and communicate in front of other people. This happen so whereby I built the rapport with expressing myself from people I am used to; which did not seem so hard when it came to strangers. Therefore, this helped me to achieve my Hallmark Goal, which was hard as I had a lot of challenges such as lacking something to talk about in the first trials of this artifact.
The experience of producing the artifact supported my understanding of the Hallmark in the sense that I had to go through the first humiliating experiences of not communicating well, or bowing my head down while talking; so that at the end of the day I was able to be a better communicator prepared for the workplace. Which is a Hallmark goal each student is supposed to achieve in this institution.
This hallmark goal becomes very significant as I needed it and still need it in other courses and in achieving other hallmark goals. Because communication is very crucial in every profession. Being a good communicator helps in achieving a lot like the group discussions or presentations in class. Additionally, as mentioned before in future in the workplace this hallmark goal will be instrumental.
3- Hallmarks Reflection Assignment

In this scenario, the artifact would have been to enhance communication skills for the other students, a skill I get from one of the numerous communication skills programs. Whereby the lecturer allocated each one of us to speak in depth about oneself in a presentation before the classroom. I distinctly recall it because I was prepared to be a good speaker after many times focusing on this item; have conviction in communication. What was the aim of this course, since it has made us develop useful or at minimum a base? The aim here is that I have been a better individual within the group setups and also been able to gain more within such groups too more so the educational part in this sense. The experience has helped me attain my Hallmark objective largely because I can trust and interact with others. This is so that I have established the relationship with communicating myself from individuals I’m accustomed to; which didn’t seem as harsh when it came to foreigners. This assisted me to meet my Hallmark goal, which would have been difficult since I had several problems, such as lack of stuff to speak about during the early trials of this item.
The encounter with the production of the item enhanced my comprehension of the Hallmark in that I had to go through the initial embarrassing sensations of not effectively communicating or bending my head when I spoke; thus, I had to be a better student for my employment position at the end of every week. Within this section I was charged with the collection of data from various data sources. The artifact which is obtained from this section was the ability to undertake interviews. Here the main ideas were to have good skills in talking to the affected participants in relation to the area of reach. Hence the artifact which I was able to gain as the skill of questioning. Here I was in need to create an atmosphere which will be friendly to the affected party in place. From this case thus, I was in need to understand that many individuals often are rude hence I was in need to be as polite as possible. Within this case therefore will be able to make approaches which will yield a success to the area of my research. Taking up the interviews was a challenge at first in the sense that many of the persons were not feeling free to talk about their personal experiences however with time I learned they needed to be approached in a more different manner.
The strategy has helped me to achieve my Hallmark goal mainly even Though I can connect and communicate with people. So, I’ve built a connection to interacting with people I’m not used to; which doesn’t look so harsh to outsiders. When it came to foreigners. In this section, I was charged to be the team leader overseeing the elocution contest in the institution. The artifact attained from this assignment was the capability to effectively communicate, give feedback and lead a group of individuals having common interests and goals. I recall this artifact because I always thought I was a natural-born leader. The aim of this course was for me to be a leader with both effective and timely communication skills and efficient feedback. Here, I needed to establish a setting where all team members felt comfortable to voice their opinions and thoughts. With the current artifact, I became aware of how some team members felt undervalued and unappreciated for their contributions to the team. I was therefore required to encourage and motivate them by talking to them individually and as a team.
The experience assisted me to attain my Hallmark objective chiefly since it enabled me to effectively communicate and lead a team of individuals, I had no contact with in the past. This helped me obtain my Hallmark objectives, though challenging. I had encountered difficulties in the early stages of the course where my team members looked up to me to address and present ideas of the project and it was quite embarrassing at first as I would lack words to say and would experience stage fright every time. Through the production of the artifact, I was able to develop skills such as effective communication and problem-solving skills. During my learning undertaking, I realized Hallmark’s significance through the artifact. It will assist me in achieving other Hallmark objectives today, and in the future, since effective communication skills are of importance to every student aiming to lead a team, company, or project in the future. Being an effective and thoughtful communicator can be crucial in accomplishing personal or organizational goals and therefore, this Hallmark objective will be contributory in my future workplace.

The artifact in the current case would entail narration from communication skills class. The instructor had allocated everyone to account for an educative narrative in front of the class. After selecting and discarding several narratives, I settled on a particular one, which required the use of varied tone and cadence. After practicing severally and feeling rather humiliated while working on this artifact, I was able to develop into a better, confident communicator, having authority when communicating and therefore I recall this artifact more clearly. With the help of Hallmark, I believe I was capable of becoming a superior communicator in preparedness for my future career.
Learning and experiencing how to communicate and present to an audience has become a realization due to this artifact. The knowledge gained throughout the course functions as an accomplishment and evidence of the educational experiences I have undertaken.

In the previous semester, my instructor noted that I required an additional course to meet the credit prerequisite for completion. In this case, the artifact was the Education Global course which would align with my already recorded courses. However, the course was only available online. For me, this was the first instance of undergoing online learning and I did not have a favorable opinion about it as I thought it would not acclimate my learning design. This course aimed to foster and develop cultural understanding and appreciation in individuals.
However, I was startled by how much I acquired by being projected to read books and articles and connecting them to my life happenstances or debating what I supposed strange or interesting. The debates were occurring in groups of students from all over the world. This experience helped me attain my Hallmark goal mainly by helping me work with culturally different students. By this, not only was able to see the different cultures in a different light, but I was able to understand how religion can be used as a healing and a destroying tool.
The undertaking throughout the production of this artifact enhanced my understanding of Hallmark in the way that differences in culture can impact our perception of things such as friendship, learning, democracy, and family. This artifact helped me achieve much since at first, I was unsure and hesitant to share and debate with people from other countries having distinct cultures from me. This Hallmark objective is extremely imperative as I needed it to effectively interact with the students from various nations, and I still need it in other courses and in attaining the remaining Hallmark objectives. Understanding and appreciating other people’s culture and religion is crucial to any individual, and importantly in workplace diversification. This artifact will be instrumental in my future workplace where I will have an easier time adapting to diversification.
8- Hallmark reflection essay

In the current scenario, the artifact would have been cultural variety whereby, our instructor assigned several of us to guide several exchange students who had recently joined our school. What makes this artifact memorable is that I was hesitant? I did not know these students and my culture and theirs were extremely different. But after interacting with them a few times, I determined we were the same regardless of our background. The artifact was based on developing an individual who was aware of diversification in terms of religion, background, race, and culture. Here, I had to establish a comfortable and friendly ambiance to enable the foreign students to talk and express themselves more freely. Interacting with these students proved to be difficult at first as they did not know or trust us. But as we continued to interact, they began to open and talk about their home and their background.
The experience was of tremendous help in achieving my Hallmark goal. Although I could talk to strangers, talking to strangers from a different country with different backgrounds and cultures would have been difficult. I had encountered some issues at the beginning where the students were afraid to talk and maintained some trust issues. But due to this artifact, I can now understand and appreciate diversification and cultural difference. I was able to interact with these students, I learned parts of their culture and religion and I got to perceive their culture and religion in a different light from how I had perceived them before.
The knowledge I obtained via this learning experience will function as an achievement and I will use it to achieve the other remaining Hallmarks and in my future workplace, as currently, every workplace has a diversified workforce and so, the Hallmark will prove essential.

9- Collaborative creation (collaboration)

The artifacts in the hallmarks core have highly impacted my personality. Unlike the times I was a bit young and unexperienced am now experience when it comes to interaction and working with people. Collaborative creation enhances the ways in which people interact and socialize with other people. While in schools, this is made possible as students are given assignments to do together. The school as a whole is an area where team work is needed. This due to the impossibility of a student passing and claiming the main reason of being in school without teamwork and interaction. While in work places, people need to work together in to be mor productive.
In some cases, it is possible to do a task and be successful as an individual. But many cases are where a person need to work with a group in to be successful. Group work and collaboration is highly needed in life daily deeds. This is because working as a group is more successful than working on a task personally or as individual. Like for example, in a business organization it is very impossible for a manager to think that the company will be successful without collaborating with the employees. The employees are key towards the production of best and quality products.
A common system should be implemented in all areas. Be it in school or work organization. This will help bring together all the people in that organization. An organization that has all the people together means that they work together. And if they work together, they will always be successful. Thus, collaboration and team work should begin from the top to the other people. The people from the top/leaders should implement rules that bring all the workers together. In each and everything they do
10- Collaborative creation (collaboration).
Collaborative creation requires different skills in to be successful. These include team and project management, collaboration skills and even cooperative learning. Team and project management is a skill in which all people are entitled to accomplish the same task. Creating teams in an organization bring different people together. Teams/groups enhance the outcomes of the project that they were doing. Philosophers say that working as teams have better outcomes as compared to work as an individual. This is because two minds are better than one. While in a group, you will be able to share ideas that will improve the work being done.
To bring people together, a management group needs to be created. The management will be in charge of ensuring that all the people in the group are brought together by the same task. Take an example of a learning institution. Groupworks are meant to accomplish an assignment. The groups always have a leader who ensures that all the individuals meet to accomplish the assignment. The assignment also brings the individuals together as they all have to work together.
Cooperative learning is also a way of enhancing collaboration. Cooperative learning tends to split people into small groups where they have to accomplish a task. These kinds of skills are so important as they will improve the mind of the people as well as tighten the bond between these people. People who work in groups and compete with other groups always tend to bond well so that they may emerge as winners. This is observed in all areas of activities. In schools, dances, work, and many others. All the individual’s bond to gather and follow the rules they have implemented. These helps them all to interact well.

11- Intercultural Insight

The school hosts people from different cultures and communities. This act has improved my intercultural insight. Intercultural insights help improve the ways in which people from different backgrounds interact. As an engineer, I am sure that in my future career work, I will have to interact with people from different areas as I seek for jo or as I work. Intercultural insight experienced from the school will help improve how I will interact with these people. In school, we are given assignment in which we are required to do as a group. The interaction within the groups improves a person view of culture. From the groups, we get to interact with people from different ethnics.
Intercultural insight according to hallmarks core, intends to perfect how people interact. This mainly on how as a person view each other and learn how to view a person’s character as that of the other. In short, viewing situations from another person’s perspective. It also builds strong interaction skills. This learning goal intends to create characters within a person that will help them understand each other. Mainly, not to judge a person due to their differences
Before joining the school, I grew up in an area where I would only interact with people who have the same characters as I am. In short, people whom we practiced the same culture activities. Due to this I never got to interact with people from other cultures. Soon as I joined the school, I would meet with people who did things totally different from what I did. The intercultural insight implemented to me by the hallmarks core enabled me interact with all these people and more so understand why they have to do things differently. This tends to be a memorable learning experience as I will now always interact with people from different backgrounds in my daily life.
12- Intercultural Insigh

In to interact and strengthen the interaction, a person need to have basic skills on socio cultural or mainly the cultural skills. Cultural skills enhance the way in which people interact. Not necessarily people from the same culture but rather, people from different cultures. The intercultural insight as a learning artifact will improve on how people interact with each other. Interaction among people is faced by different challenges. These relies on the difference from how people dress, religion, politics and even economy wise. Different cultures have different cultural practice such as how they dress, how they eat among others. These differences are addressed by the intercultural insight and thus enhance and equalize people from all corners of the world.
People from around the globe act differently. This is more so experienced when people work in groups. Students who aspire to work in areas where there are huge groups of people such as organization should learn how to interact with people. This is because, while there, they are expected to meet people who have different characteristics. Stereotypes have been spread around the globe. Stereotypes are used to criticize people from a particular society. They spread an act that ideally reflect the bad deeds of a culture and the people within that culture.
Dealing with societal challenges and cultural differences require a person who is able to view himself in the “shoes” of the other person. This will help understand what the person does and what they feel regarding to the differences. To deal with such, a person needs to put himself in the situation and consider what they would do or feel if at any chance given, they were in the same situation. In such cases, a person will better solve all these challenges and more so deal with intercultural insight as a challenge or a problem.
