Looking at the market and analysts I would suggest there is three main competition these are 1. Rubrick (3). 2. Commvault (4) and IBM with Actifio (5) (need to partner). I would suggest all their offerings are immature. Supplier Power. Due to Dell Technologies size and scale we have a solid and robust supply chain. An example would be Dell Technologies are Intels largest customer which around 20% of their sales globally to Dell (Dell 6). As we have manufacturing plants spread across the globe mixed with multi-tier suppliers we have built a solid platform. er Power. Not easy. Due to the small number of suppliers and specific requirements of customers there is a balance between value for the customer and the vendor. Threat of Substitution. Almost impossible due to patents and years and millions of USD in R&D building this solution (Voss 7) Threat of New Entry. Data protection business such as VEEAM could enter the industry but building a solution to meet the cyber recovery needs; however this takes years and a lot of money; therefore a new entry from an unknown technology provider is very unlikely.
