An 8-10 page typed paper written on one of the following types of healthcare insurers that have historically and currently impact the delivery of health care. Research and reading on the topic will discuss the history scope costs current issues of your selected topic and include an INTERVIEW with a recipient of the type of health care insurance you have selected.. Your paper should highlight how this type of insurance or entitlement program currently impacts the healthcare system and issues facing each of the programs at this time. Please cover each area of the topic points listed below. Each area will be graded as part of the paper. Select one of the following types of health insurance for your topic: I: Medicare II: Medicaid III: Blue Cross/Blue Shield What is this insurance/entitlement/issue? Describe the scope of program number of enrollees change in enrollment over time change in scope over time. Highlight any unique specialty programs that this insurer offers its enrollees. How does this program vary by state (if applicable)? Discuss the history of your topic including pertinent legislative events. Review current and pending legislative events or potential changes. What is the overall cost to administer the program? How has cost changed over time? What is the cost to enrollees and/or employers? What type of coverage do these plans offer their enrollees? Are there different options for types of enrollment payment or coverage? Discuss how quality of care is evaluated for participants in this insurance .How is satisfaction evaluated by enrollees by the insurance plan? What are the current issues this (these) program(s) face? How do these issues impact the delivery of health care in the US or for this (these) program(s)? Which parts of the health care system will be affected? Interview a recipient or consumer of your selected type of health insurance and summarize their responses to the following: satisfaction with coverage of medical care ease of billing system cost of service – is it cost effective and reasonable? Discuss their satisfaction with the insurance/program and their ability to use many/any provider. What do they describe about monthly cost and out of pocket costs? The interview may not be with yourself or from on-line blogs other websites. Please dont list their name but describe gender and age.
