one: Types of patient data stored by hospitals: Everyone engaged in healthcare delivery today is aware of the immense changes that have taken place and especially the type of data collected by healthcare facilities when offering healthcare to patients. Hospitals have developed more effective ways of understanding their patients through the type of data they collect from their patients. However, the more data they collect from patients, the more safety measures they require because patient data is regarded as one of the most valuable information whose unauthorized access can benefit intruders in various ways. 1.1. Medical history: To understand the best way of dealing with certain illnesses, doctors acquire as much medical history about a patient as possible. Medical history provides details of the sickness, its initial condition, treatments subjected to, the effectiveness of the previous treatments, and the most effective approach to use for treatment. 
1.2. Vital body signs: Doctors record various body signs before focusing on the main treatment and information about these signs requires privacy. These signs include pulse rate, body temperature, blood pressure, and respirational rate. If these details are accesses illegally, patients can be subjected to extortion.
1.3. The cost of medication and mode of payment: Healthcare cost reveals more information about the financial status of the patient and that determines the actions of intruders.
1. Privacy and confidentiality: Patients provide their information for treatment purposes trusting that the healthcare experts will observe all the professionalism in protecting it. Patients believe that the provided information will be used for treatment purposes and measures will be taken to ensure that the information does not get accessed by unauthorized people. Some of the measures taken to ensure data privacy and confidentiality include the following.
2.1 Establishing thorough internal policies on confidentiality: Thorough polices highlight the procedure of securing data and what should be done if these policies are violated.
2.2 Secure all information systems with strong authentication: Authentication ensures that data is accessed by the authorized people.
