Democracy can be interpreted many different ways but at its most basic level democracy is a form of government in which the citizens are the root of power. There is a natural tension between any form of government and the rights and power of citizens. These tensions include issues such as majority rule and individual rights; liberty and equality; state and national authority in a federal system; civil disobedience and the rule of law; freedom of the press and the right to fair trial; and the relationship of religion and government.

The goal of this paper is to determine the nature of American democracy by focusing on a particular facet or area of tension the Executive Branch. In other words did the president’s administration cause America to be more democratic or less democratic? The paper should focus on a thesis such as; A thorough examination and analysis of the presidency of John Adams leads to the undeniable conclusion that American democracy was diminished as a result of the selection process of the President an imbalance of power between the legislature and the executive and the abuse of power by Adams himself. The paper must address the following requirements: An exemplary project will contain all of the requirements and shall be of excellent quality throughout having addressed each of the necessary points in a thoughtful creative and scholarly manner.
