Accrediting agencies have the task of ensuring that facilities that are supposed to abide by specific guidelines continually abide by those guidelines. There are several agencies that control these guidelines within a healthcare facility. The main role of these agencies is to ensure patient privacy and overall healthcare needs. They protect the patient against their rights being violated that the quality of care that is being administered well above standard (Salmon 2000). In my opinion I feel that the government should manage accreditation standards from specific agencies when there has been deception indicated. When there has been an accusation of an agency not practicing ethics in regard to someone’s medical care the government needs to step in and use their resources to investigate the extent of the situation at hand. After the government concludes their investigation it would be determined on whether that agency is something that we would be able to trust at the same capacity. When an agency has to be investigated for any wrongdoing that they might have had that is when the need for their management agency to come into play. It would be best for this agency to do an investigation of their own so that they can figure out the core root of the issue and begin drafting steps to ensure that information there has not been any information that has been compromised and that the issue will never arise again. When it comes to policy makers involvement in the accreditation of accrediting bodies it is important that they consider the abilities that the specific committee brings to the forefront. If there is an issue that has risen within this accrediting agency policy makers would have to determine whether or not they would have the measures that would possibly need to replace the agency and the services that they have to offer. If they are not able to that’s when some sort of outsourcing should begin to take place. There are many states that already practice the statutes and limitations that have been proven to be effective by the research conducted by these accreditation agencies (Cauchi 2017). Since this information is being used in this context I feel that policy makers should work symbiotically with these accreditation agencies so that there can be issues being prevented. The potential impact that may arise for stakeholders are the policies that are implemented through these accreditation agencies. The accreditations that are often required for stakeholders could sometimes be costly and timely. There are often large price tags for a doctor to be accredited by a board and to be a continuous title holder as a member of that board. Not only do they have to pay a hefty fee but they also have to take time to continue to educate themselves on any change of events that might occur.
