Team Discussion

Discuss, investigate, and research the following: After discussing the transformational leaders mentioned in this chapter as a group, choose one (Gandhi, Ryan White, Terry Fox, Martin Luther King Jr., John F. Kennedy Jr., or Nelson Mandela) or another well-known transformational leader. How does this leader use talk to transform a situation? Specifically, how does the leader engage with others through talk? Create a connection with others through talk? Raise the level of morality in a group through talk? Attend to the needs and motives of followers through talk? Help followers reach their fullest potential through talk? Each student must use, source, & post at least one peer reviewed journal article. Post the resources as you would in a reference list. The same goes for using the course textbooks. The team should skim biographies, look up speeches online, watch film clips, etc. to identify the communication behaviors that promote transformation.
