ABSTRACT

In the last few decades, education has witnessed some advances in technologies involving computer aided learning that promises to drastically change the methods of teaching and learning. The World Wide Web has played a major role in information storage and dissemination in the educational community. Conventional classroom based teaching involves the delivery of course materials by the lecturer in a particular place at a defined time. Hence it imposes a constraint of time and place on both the instructor and the student. Due to human factor arising from the traditional classroom method, the lecturer may not always be able to put in optimum effort towards preparing and delivering course materials. There may also be inconsistencies in the pedagogy and learning style due to repetitive nature of teaching/learning. The objective of this paper is to develop a virtual classroom system to enhance learning on campus. The system was developed using PHP and MySQL as server side programming and database respectively. The web-based virtual classroom provides a web enabled interactive model for e-learning in which the course material is presented using multimedia and hypermedia. 1.1 Introduction / Background to the Study

In today’s developing era, the number of students are increasing in most over the institutions.
So providing efficient service to every student could be a challenging task for tutors in future.
This report is a case that will help locate and monitor an entire classroom and communicate with students efficiently to induce service in need.
Virtual class is the education via the Internet, network, or standalone computer. It is basically the network enabled convey of skills and knowledge. It all refers to using electronic applications and processes to learn. It includes all forms of electronically supported learning and teaching. The information and communication systems, whether networked learning or not, serve as specific media to implement the learning process. This often involves both out-of classroom and in-classroom educational experiences via technology, even as advances continue in regard to devices and curriculum.
Virtual learning therefore provides enabling environment for students to investigate information just as the correspondence accommodation for them to associate. Virtual learning conditions are massively different in size, capacity and administrations offered can cater for people running in accomplishment, ages and unique necessities. Virtual homerooms are of three general classifications – autonomous, work together and broadcast. Blaine (2019).

Web-based learning approach has come to stay. It not only has dealt with standard but also classroom-based environment. This learning approach has raised the stake on how well the advantages of cooperative learning will be appropriately bridled in an electronic climate. Collective picking up as indicated by Ssekakubo et al (2011) implies that information isn’t something that is conveyed to understudies, but instead something that rises out of dynamic discourse among the individuals who look to comprehend and apply ideas and methods.

With collaborative learning environment there is enhanced student – student interaction which may add to the accomplishment of instructive objectives by impacting instructive inspiration and desires through peer connections. (Dilani 2014) sets that to team up intends to cooperate, which infers an idea of shared objectives and an unequivocal aim of “add esteem” – to make something new or distinctive through a conscious and organized communitarian measure rather than essentially trading data or passing on guidelines. Electronic Virtual classroom Framework (VCF) gives the stage or design to powerful shared learning through which quality information in different structures and approaches can be acquired.
Some students live in other parts of the country (Kenya) or even in other countries, and some are gainfully employed, some are hospitalized due to illness and some are physically challenged. For all these persons distance education and web-based learning (e.g. VCS) may offer interesting opportunities and democratic advantages. Nagarajan et al (2010) asserts that collaborative learning at a distance may give as good results as learning in a traditional classroom, or even better.
To overcome some of these limitations outlined above, I propose to develop an “internet oriented model Web-based that accommodates all needs of tutors and students to facilitate easy communication and learning.

Various virtual classroom systems exist quite alright, to date there is no standard framework or model to guide developers of such systems. Our model is therefore intended to provide the much needed framework for virtual classroom system developers. The task of this research is to examine current aspects of web-based learning environment (Virtual classrooms) in use and identify the areas for improvement and then overall goal being; too according to our requirements, develop a mathematical model web-based virtual classroom system (VCS) which will emerge as a viable tool through which collaborative learning and quality knowledge in various ways and approaches can be gained.
